Red Trail - Project of the Year 2007 Cash award of $1,000, donated to Stark County Development. |
The winner of each category will be presented with a $1,000 check to be given to the economic development corporation or association to which they are most closely associated.
Awards will be presented during the Governor's Choice for Economic Development Awards Banquet held the evening of Monday, December 1, 2008 in conjunction with the Economic Development Association of North Dakota's fall meeting at the Bismarck Ramkota Hotel.
All nominees and nominators will receive an invitation to the banquet and will be recognized at the event.

Judging Criteria

The Governor's Choice awards are judged annually by a panel that includes:
- 3 staff members of the North Dakota Department of Commerce
- 1 member of the Economic Development Association of North Dakota board
- 1 member of the Economic Development Foundation, and
- 1 representative to be determined
Judges score based on the four following criteria with a total of 250 points available to each entry:
- Scope of Project(s) - 100 points
The size, impact and importance of the nominated individual or project. - Success of Project(s) - 100 points
The successes, such as adding to the economic base, attracting workforce, etc., of the nominated individual or project. - Primary Sector - 25 points
The relevance of the nominated individual or project to the primary sector. - Impact - 25 points
The impact of the nominated individual or project to those individuals impacted or the area served.
